TITANIC

May 18th, 2015 - Camp Bar

Second Fiddle is honored to bring to life this newly reworked, intimate musical telling of the passengers – first, second and third class - aboard the ill-fated luxury liner Titanic in the nights leading up to the ship's fatal encounter with an iceberg in the North Atlantic in 1912.  Through an ingenious doubling scheme, created by original Broadway cast member, Don Stephenson, Titanic Ensemble Version requires a cast of just 20 to tell the gripping story of the ocean liner’s maiden voyage and tragic demise.

The Original Broadway Production of Titanic opened on Broadway April 23, 1997 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and ran 804 performances but closed at a loss, despite winning five Tony Awards (including Best Musical) and the release of James Cameron's film Titanic in December 1997.

Blood Brothers

August 24th, 2015 - Camp Bar

So did y' hear the story of the Johnstone twins? As like each other as two new pins,
Of one womb born, on the self same day, How one was kept and one given away?

Second Fiddle presents this contemporary nature versus nurture story, revolving around fraternal twins Mickey and Eddie who were separated at birth. Originally developed as a school play, Blood Brothers debuted in Liverpool before Russell transferred it to West End in 1983. It won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and went on to a national tour of the UK. The success of the tour lead to a West End revival in 1988.

The revival closed in 2012 after running for more than 24 years in the West End, and played more than 10,000 performances, becoming the third longest-running musical production in West End history.

The Broadway production ran from 1993-1995 for 840 performaces and was nominated for 6 TONY Awards.  It has never been revived and despite having a cult following, is rarely produced regionally.

Little Women

The Broadway Musical

Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott

Little Women the Broadway Musical
May 12th, 2014 - History Theatre

Our inaugural reading ran for a total of 137 performances when it was produced on Broadway in 2005.  Critics said that the "The show itself seems lost in the drafty hugeness of the Virginia [theatre], where the often charming family scenes are dwarfed by the high proscenium arch."

Second Fiddle is delighted to bring this musical to life in a more intimate and simple setting.  This beloved Louisa May Alcott novel turned musical follows the saga of the March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy—as they grow up in Civil War America. With a book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, this show is sure to charm young and old alike.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood

Second Fiddle is thrilled to bring this English music hall inspired mystery to life. Drood was the first Broadway musical with multiple endings - which will be determined by audience vote! Is the killer beautiful Rosabud? Temperamental John Jasper? Revengeful Helena Landless? YOU DECIDE!

This choose-your-own-ending musical has not been professionally produced in the Twin Cities for 10 years. Let’s unlock this jewel of a show and breathe some life (or death, as the case may be) into this fun whodunit romp!
